Just go ahead and post it! Psych Continuing Education Blog tips

Here are some ideas about things you can include in a blog post at the Psychology Continuing Education Public Blog, however there is no one right way to post. The idea is simply to convey information you think other people would be interesting in knowing before deciding on taking an independent home study course (such as an online web based course or one based on a book or other materials) that you have already taken. You can think about it in a way such as - what would you like to know before taking a course if you could?

You can start off with a brief description of the course and where you took it, is there a website you can refer us to if it isn't one of the course providers in the directory yet? What was your overall impression of the course and would you do it over again or do you wish you tried some other course?

Some specific questions/examples of things you could mention just to get you going in the writing process- were you able to review the course materials before purchasing the course? How user-friendly was the website and were you able to complete the test online and print out a certificate immediately or was the postal service involved? Was there any customer service issues? Was the price worth it in your mind? Did you learn anything? Did the course meet its stated objectives? Did it cover what it said it was going to cover and did it do it well? Was it basic or advanced? Was it well-written or boring and hard to follow? Did you "beat the clock," i.e. could you finish it earlier than the amount of CE credits/hours you earned or at least "on time," or did it seem to take longer than it should have. Could you review the test questions in an "open book" fashion as you proceeded through the material, and did the subjects of the questions go logically in order following the course materials?
